  • I looked up some statitics:

    rank: yards: ydg: w/l:

    2000 31 4946 412.17 7-5
    2001 3 6060 505.00 10-2
    2002 3 6439 495.31 11-2
    2003 18 5291 440.92 8-4
    2004 97 3855 321.25 6-6
    2005 89 3619 329.00 4-7
    2006 49 4252 354.33 5-7
    2007 (4games) 67 1520 380.00 0-4

So if it is not the OC then what is it.

  • Plain and simple: we give up 38 pts/game.
Even when we score with the teams, we give it away.  Either a bad penalty, a turnover, huge loss in yardage from penalties/bad snaps, ect.

  • I would also dare to say...that Marshall misses out on two or three more possessions a game because the defense can't stop anyone.

Two or three possessions can mean 10 to 14 more points and 70 to 80 more yards per game, but that is all speculation.

    Worse talent all around
Bad receivers for 3 of those years
    Horrible o-line play
    Injured qb's
    Much better competition

But you don't want to listen to reason.  It's too easy for Kueck to be your whipping boy.

  • I dont like Kueck and never have. However that was why I put up statistics so we can get a greater idea of how Marshall's offense has performed over the last 7 yrs.

  • Wasn't Kueck responsible for recruiting some of the talent we lacked?

Wasn't the 2004 team stacked with returning starters on offense?

Didn't the 2003 team have the NCAA's 2nd leading WR, a 3rd round draft pick at WR, a running back and TE that both made the NE Patriots at one time and a RB that made the Minnesota Vikings? (Davis, Watts, Charles, Rader and Charles)

Why does Larry Kueck need amazing talent to succeed? You know, some OC's win with lesser talent. Its called coaching.

BTW, if you want a full look at Kueck's offenses as an OC, pull up his SMU and Southern Miss stats. The guy was fired at S.Miss for a reason.

  • Kueck was a loser at SMU and USM.  He has always been a loser.
